Allies Inc., a nonprofit organization and the New Jersey State Coordinator for National Disability Mentoring Day (DMD), is seeking employers who are willing to host small groups of high school students with disabilities on October 15, 2008 for a half day of career exploration. On DMD students are matched in small groups by Allies, Inc. to companies in their community for a half day of career exploration.9AM-12PM. This can include a tour of the facility, introduction to the job functions of employees, and also time with employees so students may shadow them or interview them about their job. National Disability Employment Awareness Month is celebrated every October and has since grown to include participation from 13,000 students and job-seekers in communities throughout the U.S. and twenty-four additional countries. The rising cost of a college education makes it increasingly more difficult for the average person to send their children to college. Having an employer sponsored 529 plan as a part of a voluntary benefits package is a great way for employers to show their employees that they understand their needs and value their financial security.
In addition, a workplace 529 plan can provide a low or no-cost, high value employee benefit, is easy to implement, may help improve moral and retention, can be used as an incentive in lieu of other more expensive options, differentiates an employer to prospective employees, and is suitable for small or large businesses.

American Karate, located in Hamilton for 30 years, announces the recent affiliation with 2 other martial arts schools. Earlier this year, the Golden Eagle Kempo Institute, under the direction of Sensei Dave Weiss, began new classes at the American Karate facility.

East Windsor, NJ:
Strateg-e, an East Windsor Public Relations and marketing company has won two awards presented by the NJ Ad Club, in the category of “Electronic Public Relations.” The awards were presented May 29 at the Club’s annual Jersey Awards Competition, held at the Chart House in Secaucus. President of Strateg-e, Freddi Silverman, a West Windsor resident and president of Strateg-e was the project manager.
Awards were presented for work done on website client “SeniorsA2Z,” a national website for seniors and their caregivers, and” Hidden Meadows Design,” an interior design and construction company.”
Winning the awards in an “electronic media” category was “very exciting” said Silverman,” because while most of our work is delivered electronically to the media, print work still enjoys strong attention and helps go a long way in creating strong brand identity. Our clients enjoy being the “motivators behind the work.” In the promotion of SeniorsA2Z, making sure that both a print and online press kit (developed by Grazina Crisman, Seniors A2Z’s president) was a challenge.
